Integrated circuit [IC]}
An integrated circuit (IC), sometimes called a chip or microchip, is a semiconductor wafer on which thousands or millions of tiny resistors, capacitors, and transistors are fabricated. An IC can function as an amplifier, oscillator, timer, counter, computer memory, or microprocessor Pin number ‘1’ is indicated either by a dot or bar. Another indicator is the beveled top edge of the package along the pin number ‘1’ side.
Integrated circuits are mainly of two types:
1. PGA (Pin Grid Architechture)
2. BGA (Ball Grid Architecture)
